Designing for Hillsong

Man, its indeed a dream come true for me...just a year ago, i wouldn't have imagined myself designing stuff for Hillsong..and here i am now, one year later, designing a flyer for Powerhouse and Wildlife..i have to say, it was quite surreal for me designing the flyers and putting the 'Hillsong' logo at the top left corner..(for those of you who duno, that's their trademark)..

so, yea, being quite a fan all these years, singing their songs, buying their albums, watching their videos, checking out their website...and now, i'm a part of Hillsong Church London, next month they'll be recording their next album, i'm serving on Team, and who knows?..i might be designing their website pretty soon...

and the best is yet to come!

(Thanks God, you always remember all our hopes and dreams...)

Happy New Year!!!

Goodbye 2007, Hello 2008!

2007's been a great year indeed...(Here's a quick look at what i did)
-Started the year off with my 3rd semester doing my Foundation in Art & Design at Kolej Bandar Utama and finished in May...
-Got bugged by mum to write essays for Astro Scholarship Awards application..(thanks mum!)
Send in application and waited for reply, along the way, searched and applied for design universities in the UK. Had our eyes on University of the Arts London, spesifically London College of Communication.
-Went around with a good friend of mine, Jinchi, to Melaka, Singapore & Penang, helping her take photos for her Master's thesis...
-Worked as a life-drawing model in KBU to earn some pocket money
-Got reply from few Uni's, namely, UCE Birmingham, Middlesex Uni, & University of the Arts, London.
(For those wondering why i chose UAL, its because you can say its like the Harvard of Art & Design, a very prestigious and renowned Insitute. My college, London College of Communication, or previously called London College of Printing, has a history that goes back to the mid 1800's....how can you beat that??!...well, what can i say?...i love my University!)

(back to the list...haha!)

-Got a call from Astro, got shortlisted, went in for 1st interview (went in there and talk talk talk oni, hahah!...)
-Waited for a while
-Got another call from Astro, congratulations, got shortlisted again, went in for final interview (again, went in there and talk talk talk oni....even talked about my hair!...well, Ms. Lai Kuan started it, not me... :) )
-Waited for what seemed like forever!!
-Got a call from Astro, congratulations, accepted to receive the Astro Scholarship Award... (woohooo!!!)

(long story short)

-Flew to Heathrow, London on Sept 11...(dun worry, i'm alright)...
-Settled down in my new home, (Uni Halls of Residence)...
-Sight-saw around London for a few days (while waiting for college to start)
-College starts, here we go!
-Along the way, had a great great time, learning so many things, experiencing so much, made alot of friends...
-End of 10 week term, handed in work for assessment...(we had 2 projects...One, write, design and produce a book. Mine was an 80 page book. Two, write, design and put together a functional website)
-Got our grades, i got a Merit Plus...(wanted a Distinction, but the standards are super high, only a few got that)...
-Christmas break came, hooray!
-Did a pencil drawing of a homeless guy called Anthony
-Spent Christmas with a few friends somewhere outside Central London
-Went up to Sheffield to stay with my best mate Richard for 5 days (beautiful place!)
-Came back just in time for the New Year's Eve celebration in Central London, me and my friends were among the 700,000 people that were out on the streets of London to invite the New Year..(it was crazy!!..but brilliant..)

Goodbye 2007, Hello 2008!

Well, its been an awesome year altogether. So many things happened. Never could've imagined studying overseas, furthermore, in a place like London, and in a university like the UAL. (again, thanks Astro)...
its been an exciting year.....but...the best is yet to come!
